Sensorielle is a “pay-what-you-can” day spa. Because this is a structure that has never been in place for a spa, we would like to address some of the questions that have come up. Please feel free to email us with other questions, or suggestions for this page.
Is the spa changing its services or products?
No, our high level of service, and high-quality natural and organic products will remain exactly the same. Nothing is changing except that we are opening our healing sanctuary to all.
How does it work?
We have a suggested price list based on the value of services. We do require a monetary exchange for the service, and ask that in honesty you pay all that you can, and think is fair, for the services you receive.
Do you require proof of income?
No, we do not require any proof of income. Our structure is based on an honor system.
How do I know what is a fair price?
Give us a call. Our friendly front desk staff is ready to answer all your questions and help find a price that feels fair to you.
Is there a minimum?
No, we do not have a minimum. Our exchange is based on an honor system. We trust that our clients will truly pay what they can and think is fair, and our clients can trust that we will give them the best experience we can.
How do gift certificates work?
There are two options. You can purchase a gift certificate for a service or package, pay what you can, and the recipient will receive a gift certificate listing the service(s) you choose. Or choose a dollar amount, and the recipient can choose from the menu at the suggested pricing.
What about monthly memberships?
We are continuing the monthly membership. You pay a monthly amount determined by you for the service you choose, and we charge your credit card that amount each month on the day you sign up. You will receive 10% off all retail products for the duration of your membership and four 20-minute free siestas (a nap on our luxurious tables with relaxing music, and a gentle zen clock to wake you) per month.
Are your therapists fairly compensated?
Our highly trained therapists are dedicated to providing high quality healing treatments for all regardless of income. They are paid based on what comes in for their schedule. Everyone receives the same excellence in service and products.
Are you still a non-tipping spa?
We are no longer a “non-tipping” facility. We received a lot of feedback about the non-tipping policy. Some clients liked not feeling pressured to tip, and some clients wished to leave a tip as a token of their appreciation, but were not able to. Now, we simply ask that clients pay all they can for services. Clients are permitted to leave a cash tip if they would like to. We wish to emphasize that all clients are welcome to come in for services and not feel obligated to leave a tip. Therapists do not expect tips as part of their income. If you are able to pay more for services, the therapists’ commission increases due to the higher payment. We leave it up to you to decide what feels right.
